Spring in Wisconsin

Great weather, warm days, some rain yesterday, grass needs mowing again, and a special visitor from CA this week. Paul dropped by for a few days while in the area to photograph a wedding. It was so good seeing him and being able to join him with his sisters for meals. Culver's was a special haunt for him. He does love their shakes!!!!

I missed the redbud trees blooming, and the lilacs, but did get to enjoy the blossoms in NC while there.

Found a few things I had misplaced and can now get them in the mail to Ruth Anne and David.

WE are all so proud of Stefanie and her track achievements. She qualified for the State Track Meet in the 300 hurdles yesterday!!! Way to go, Stef. That will be in LaCrosse in a week.
Lots of practice in the meantime, I suppose.

Time for bed. Ta Ta for now.

Time to go home

After a wonderful and most relaxing vacation here in NC with children and grandchildren, it is time to get back to reality. Tomorrow I fly to WI and my friend is planning to pick me up at the airport. I have some major things to get to when I return--mail, roof, porch repairs, etc. Then I need to start on the inside!!!!! That is the big task. If I ever get it done, it will be one large miracle.

There is another trip in the offing, to CA to visit family there. Looking forward to seeing my youngesst grandchild. It has been almost 6 months since I saw her last time. I imagine she has grown quite a bit and I am excited to see the changes in her. She is such a lovely little girl.

Back to work, also, maybe on Thursday afternoon for a start, then Monday and Tuesday as usual. Catching up after three weeks will take a while, but I am certain to get it all done before the next vacation.

TA TA for now.

May 4, 20007

I COULD NOT LET THIS DAY PASS WITHOUT telling about the wonderful birthday we celebrated last year at Myrtle Beach. Bob turned 77 , we walked on the beach, I took pictures of him, we had dinner, and he had his special chocolate cake with chocolate icing and two "7" candles. The cake was half eaten when I took pictures of him enjoing his favorite dessert, so I ducked down to show the uneaten part of the cake. We laughed about that picture many times and remembered what a wonderful time we had at the beach. I missed him there this year, but said some special prayers for him. He was such a wonderful person. I miss his terribly.

Vacation time

Much has happened since I last blogged. The league had its banquet on April 24th. OK meal at Bobby G's. Home early to be ready for early departure to airport for trip to NC to visit Ruth Anne and family. Flights were on time and uneventful. Dave was there waiting for me as I came down to collect my baggage. It is difficult to imagine how much the children have grown in the past six months. I know now that that is toooo long between trips to visit.

We had a delightful short trip to Myrtle Beach. Weather was ideal for walking on the beach and sunning. I did both, until I got too warm. Ruth Anne, Dave, and the children chose the indoor pool for most of their activities, and they were sole users most of the time. The girls frolicked with Ruth Anne and Dave, while Zeke swam around with his inner tube in the 3 1/2 foot deep pool. He learned he could stand on the bottom without too much trouble.

Back at the "cozy house" now and just relaxing. Have finally caught up on some much needed sleep. Did do some stitching for Church and now have gotten back to my counted cross stitch project (Christmas Stockings for Annie and Mary Jo) after a very long absence.

While I am here in NC, I expect that my front porch will be fixed. One corner needs to be bolstered up and a new floor will be put down. When I return, the new roof will be put on. After that, who knows?? One thing at a time.

All for now.
