New PC and Blogging Again!!

After a few months of not having a valid (try working) computer, I can now get back to blogging on my brand new fast speed computer. Peggy took me shopping last Saturday, showed me what she thought I needed, and I bought the best there was in my price range. Picked up a new printer, too, which is also a copier and scanner. I have put that to very good use already, and I do like it.

Travel continued in July to the funeral of my oldest brother, Tim, in PA. Stayed a few extra days and enjoyed the pool at Mary Pondo's. It was a very hot spell in July!!! Had lunch with Tim's daughter, Kathy, and visited her home for the first time. Usually, I met her at Tim's when I would visit him. Met her husband, David, who came in very red-faced. He had been working in the hot sun all day. I could see the relief on his face when he hit the air conditioned home.

In August, I went to NC to be with the granddaughters (and grandson) to help celebrate their third birthdays. How they have grown!! Stayed a couple weeks and got back in time to start the bowling season with the team in the brand new alleys.

Back to NC again in October and we all spent a week at Myrtle Beach with Ruth Anne, David and family. Peggy and her friend Mary R. from work, Mary, Scott and Jake joined in the fun. The weather was quite nice and it was pleasant not fighting crowds of people on the beach. Ruth Anne and David rented a golf cart for the week and it really made a big hit. Everyone wanted to drive it, especially Jake, who is not quite old enough to drive. Had a nice lunch with Mary R. and Peggy at Benny Rappa's Italian place on the main drag. The trip to CA in November was short but very sweet. Kate had grown so much since I saw her in July and was doing lots of special things. She had been holding on to tables, sofas, etc., to get around the lounge but finally took her first real steps while I was there. She was so excited and the picture Paul took of her doing it showed her delight. Look at me, I can walk!!! Paul has that picture in his blog.

Now it is December and I am waiting for the weather to break so the roofers can get caught up and come to re-roof my home. They were supposed to come November 28, but the rainy October held them up for two weeks. Maybe they will be here soon. The weather here has been most unusual. Warm temperatures for the last week or two. Today it was in the high 40's, which for December 16th is most unusual. I am not complaining. Think of all the heating fuel we are saving with this wonderful break in the temperature. I have rambled long enough and have brought you up to date, somewhat.

Now that I know a little more about blogging, I may do it more often so the blogs will not be so long and windy.

Note: This would have been published a little sooner, but I was a little gung ho and actually created ANOTHER blog. I think Peggy has it fixed now...and I'll be fine from now on. One can hope.
